Doug's Golf Farm
About
I teach golf a little differently than most. I teach it as you would any other sport. For example, if you're going to learn to hit a baseball, you don't start off by stepping into the batters box and taking pitches. First, you learn proper stance, how to correctly shift your weight, and how to create bat speed. In golf, I apply this same mindset. If you rush into the game trying to hit a ball before you know how to swing at it, it will quickly become frustrating.
K.I.S.S. Everyone is an athelete. Some people are just more developed than others. I cover the Tri-County area and am based primarily at Woodmont, but have availability to travel and meet with students at a location nearer to them.
I am a former Divison 1 collegiate player, and continue to compete on the local pro level. I currently am a Golf Pro at Woodmont Country Club in Tamarac. I have been playing professional golf for over 20 years, and first started playing when I was just 10. I didn't just read up on golf in a book or on some website; I bring decades of wisdom, skill and personal experience to all of my students.
I enjoy recieving texts about my students experiences. It could be about a specific shot or a score or just a state of mind saying they are hitting it well. I enjoy letting golfers stand on my shoulders and recieve the benefits of all the things I have learned on my quest to play golf and truly understand the game, and pursue playing it to the highest skill level possible.
