Pam Irwin's Music Studio
About
I teach flute, piano and harp. In addition to lessons, I like to get students together once a month to play ensemble music together. I also offer students the opportunity to perform with me at a local church I work for. I have been teaching since 1995 and have had several students that I taught from elementary through high school.
I enjoy taking a student from beginning to advanced levels. I like to work with students for several years to see their progress.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I meet with the student and usually try them out with one of my books so I can see what level the student is at. If a student takes lessons with me, then I have them get one or more books and assign their music for the next lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in music performance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Half hour - $25.00 per half hour
45 minutes- $40.00 for 45 minutes
Hour - $50.00 for an hour
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching shortly after college. I am also a classroom teacher.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a small recital at the end of the school year for my harp students. The students chose their own selections. I loved hearing their pieces and their progress. They are special to me!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would try one or two lessons with a teacher to see if you enjoy working with them. The private teacher-student relationship is a close one and you want to enjoy working with that person.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How am I doing? Am I progressing at a good rate? Am I using materials that help me make good progress? What do you think of my practice time/commitment to music? Where can I find performing opportunities?
