3 Sisters And A Dude Ranch
About
My goal is to instill the passion that I had as a little girl for horses into more little girls.
my riding career started when I was eight and I started with saddle seat. Later I leased a cow pony and learned everything about horses and how to ride but completely last my form. In high school I went back into hunter jumper.
as time went by I quit riding because of the time 3 kids took. When my youngest was a Jr in HS. I purchased my own Arab who I still have. I then bred a dressage horse. Now I ride for my own pleasure but work hard to get my student ready for schooling shows and I have a very competent and certified to take my H/J up several levels and she teaches dressage. She is quite qualified in both fields.
I do teach boys periodically but they don't seem to have the passion to stay with it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with learning how to tack our horses and what the pieces of tack are for.
Then we hand walk our horse around the ring.
we master mounting from the block and then on to the lead line going as far as the rider is capable without anxiety.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training as an instructor has come from my instructors. I am still taking weekly lessons and will continue for as long as I'm riding.
my real teaching skill comes from my 35 years as a middle school teacher.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Prices with me for the beginners are 40.
advanced riders are 55.
one hour trails with guide are 50 per person.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I saw a need for little girls to start with out fear or anxiety. My goal was to move them along as fast as they were able and willing to go. Each child has their own pace.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly girls from 6 to adulthood.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love the schooling shows for all ages. We go for the weekend and the girls bond, teach each other, and support each other. The last one at Sumter County Equestrian Center, everyone brought home ribbons and four out of six got reserve and grand champion.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To visit the farms they are interested in. Meet the instructor and make sure the instructor would be her instructor every time she went out. Take a mini lesson and then go home and compare experiences.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What strengths are important to work on and how can they work on them off the horse?
