CoachUp.com ranks me as the #1 private football coach in GA. I have over 30 years of football experience as a player & coach, at every level from youth to pro & I love to see hard work pay off.
I started coaching at my high school in NJ after college. When I moved to GA, I had to start in youth football in Duluth. I worked my way all the way up to coach pro football with the Atlanta Sharks indoor team in 2014-2015. From 2013-2017, I have been the Defensive Coordinator, and the Associate Head Coach at North Georgia Sports Academy. In 2018, I served as the Defensive Backs Coach and Director of Student-Athlete Development at Atlanta Sports City Prep. For the 2019 season, I was the Cornerbacks Coach at Georgia Knights Prep Academy. Currently, I and the Special Teams Coordinator for the Georgia Warriors, a new pro team, in the Minor Football League (MFL). I have experience working with players at ALL levels and I love to see athletes reach their goals.
I played football, basketball and ran track, all at the varsity level in high school (Linden High School, Linden, NJ). I earned a scholarship to attend and play football at Bucknell University (Lewisburg, PA) in the Patriot League.
I always like to start each training session with a short warm-up to get the blood flowing. Then a few stretches are important to get the most out of your muscles while preventing injuries. Early sessions will then focus on speed, agility and explosiveness, with drills that are specifically catered to the needs of the individual or group. This will help prepare for sport specific drills. At the more advanced stages of training, I will start to implement the football specific drills that I've learned and created from my many stops as a player and coach. These drills will help to improve skills and techniques such as route running, blocking, catching, covering, etc.
I also now offer practice evaluation. I will visit the athletes practice for one hour and evaluate what I see. This give me a chance to see the athlete, in competition with others, and will help me further with customization of future session plans.
I got a lot out of football, including life lessons, life-long friends and a free education. I had some great coaches that helped me out along the way and I want to pay it forward to as many people as possible. I've been coaching football for 18 years and I love the rewarding feeling that I get when a client learns something new or when I help someone achieve goals such as making the team or earning a college scholarship.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a presession interview with the athlete (and parent for minors), to learn their training goals and to make sure we're all on the same page. I also emphasize how important education is to student-athletes. They also get a chance to ask me any questions.
I then go over the rules, the initial session plan and how things will work moving foward. The first session moves a lot slower than usual because I am very detailed in how I teach each drill and exercise. Once my drills are learned, future sessions tend to move pretty fast
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started coaching by volunteering at my high school in NJ, for 3 years, after college. When I moved to GA, I had to start in youth football in Duluth. Over the next 5 years, I worked my way all the way up to coach pro football with the Atlanta Sharks indoor team in 2014-2015. For the last 5 years, I have been the Defensive Coordinator, and am now the Associate Head Coach at North Georgia Sports Academy, where I currently coach at the college level. I have experience working with players at ALL levels and I love to see athletes reach their goals.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Also, a 2-athlete package gets you 10% off, 3-athlete gets you 20% off and 4 or more athletes get you 30% off.
How did you get started teaching?

What types of students have you worked with?
Since I have coached at every level of football from youth to pro, I have experience with every age group. I have coached players as young as 7 years old and and as old as 37 years old and every age group in between. I have worked with new players with zero experience, as well as grown men that have been playing football their whole lives. I even have a special needs client that has shown some of the best progress I've ever seen.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Uh, the Super Bowl!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say to do your research and make sure that you guys mesh on and off the field. You also want to stay away from coaches that don't put any emphasis on the importance of education for student athletes. I would also advise to give me a minimum of 2 sessions to show you what I can do to help get you to the next level.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You probably want to know how a typical session is going to go. You might also want to know if your coach has previously dealt with someone with your specific needs.
