A Bachelor of Animal Science, Michelle has 20 years of experience with horses, with experience in the disciplines of dressage, hunter-jumper, natural horsemanship, mounted archery, and competitive trail riding.

Horseback riding is not just about getting on a horse and saying yeehaw. Horses have a funny way of demanding our excellence. Not your halfway, kinda trying, blah attempt. Your absolute best. That is what your horse needs from you. Horses show us our shortcomings, our insecurities, our fears, our pride, and ask us to step up and be a better rider. You will grow. You will learn about yourself. And if you care about your horse, you will work hard to be a better rider.

When I started I was asked what I wanted from riding and my interests. I feel the lessons are tailored to my abilities and learning style. Not a cookie cutter approach such as this the way To learn and everyone learns the same way. All horses are NOT the same, just as people are not. The overall horsemanship concept of rider and horse, the horse is a thinking, responding animal just like me. For instance I was having trouble with balance and leg posture position. Michelle broke it down into steps differently until I found my footing, sort of speak. I am 62 this is my first experience with formal training. It is a highlight in my week. Both my grandchildren, 14 & 16 take lessons. My grandson, 16 does not like sports - he loves learning to ride with Michelle. She is a very patient, calm person. My grand daughter enjoys her lessons as well. She explains why you do each cue to ask the horse and why something may not be working. Fantastic trainer.
