About

I base my coaching on developing good mechanics and fundamentals for added skill. As we all know, there are many ways to swing a club. Some fast, some slow and the in-between depending on your balance, rhythm and tempo. There are certain characteristics all good players have in common. Super nice guy. Makes things easy and works lesson to lesson to learn the game the right way. Went from knowing nothing about mechanics to having a stable game. One of the best out there for sure.

Greg is not just an expert on swing mechanics and brilliant when it comes to diagnosing problems, he is an exceptional teacher. You can tell he is thoughtful about the way he coaches. He’s been with me from a total swing rebuild through to shooting regularly in the 80s, and I always feel like he’s got plenty more to teach me. I’d recommend him to anyone from beginners to low handicappers.

I just had my first lesson with Greg this past week. Greg analyzed my swing and provided immediate feedback. Greg has a great understanding of the golf swing and has the ability to communicate the swing process in simple terms to the student. I look forward to working with Greg to improve my overall game.

    Frequently asked questions

I first get to know my potential student by asking their golfing experience, goals they would like to achieve, and what the primary concern is with their game.

We then get started with checking 5 fundamentals: grip, posture, alignment, ball position and stance. For in-swing principles, I like to work on mechanics the first half to evaluate certain essentials and make changes when needed. We rehearse, exaggerate and practice partial swings to implement a change then re-check with video to match up feels.

I started playing golf at the age of 12 and got into the business when I was 16. My first job at a local club back home I would help with the group clinics and got a chance to learn from some of the best PGA professionals at the time. I really enjoyed the interaction with each person and how we all learn in a unique way whether it be verbal, visual or by feel. They can and will all get the job done individually but when you find a way to incorporate all three and make it easy to understand that’s when you get the most out of a lesson.

All kinds! From the complete beginner to the advanced player.

I would definitely look at experience and certifications. Teaching is a skill that requires practice to develop, and once it is developed, a good teacher can tailor lessons to the individual student’s needs and adjust where necessary.

I would think through your goals as a player, as well as a timeline to accomplish them. Are you trying to beat your buddies while playing for fun? Are you looking to up your game competitively? Or are you looking to impress your boss at your next office golf event? Each of these scenarios would have different goal sets for each lesson, and knowing exactly what you want will help your teacher make the most of your lesson time.
