About this pro

I am a new instructor at the Golf Academy at Magnolia Greens in Leland, NC. Nothing makes me happier than seeing golfers of all skill levels improve their game and enjoy golf to its fullest. I am a PGA Apprentice in the process of gaining my Class A teaching license. I have been involved in all aspects of the golf industry for over 10 years ranging from caddying to teaching to playing professionally. I have performed countless junior clinics as well as 1 on 1 instruction.

I enjoy seeing golfers improve their skills and knowledge of the game and swing. Hitting a good shot is one thing, but understanding why it was good is another.

Ryan is a great golf instructor. He works really well with you based on your skill level. He also makes the lessons really fun at the same time. It’s amazing the little changes he tweaks on your swing to give you the best chance at improving your game. If you’re looking to shoot lower scores, improve and enjoy yourself on the course, he’s your guy.

I've had lessons from a bunch of different golf pros. I've dropped a lot of money on custom fit clubs and launch monitor sessions too. Nothing has helped my game as much as coach Saul. I really enjoy working with him

Everything!! His charm, his analogies from golf to life, and his ability to explain the micro adjustments necessary to get good at the game. Before working with Ryan, I sucked. I mean, I couldn’t hit water if I fell out of a boat. Now, after a few lessons and diligent practice on Ryan’s teaching methods, I’m playing sound golf, hitting tour quality shots, making more birdies, and shooting low scores.

Ryan is very professional and knowledgeable with his instructing. I usually shoot in the 100’s and had 2 lessons with Ryan, knocked 10 shots off my score, best round I’ve ever had! He made adjustments for me based on my skill level. He understood I wasn’t trying to shoot in the 60’s, but just get better at golf all around. He is very personable and fun to learn with. You can tell he not only loves the game, but loves seeing people do well. I highly recommend taking lessons from Ryan, he’s awesome.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Determine the current skill and knowledge level. Check grip, posture and setup and then go from there. I don't like bombarding students with too much technical information early on because it just gets too confusing

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am in the PGA Apprentice program to become a certified PGA Class A instructor. I have played professionally all over the world and have a very good grasp of the swing and course management - both important for improving one's golf game.
