Director Of Golf Programs At The Brian Mogg Golf Academy , Hawaii Prince Golf Club
About
My passion in life is to make the golfers that choose me as their teacher better players at the game. With each student, mastery of the set-up, their grip, alignment and posture will create the foundation of continued improvement with their desired level of practice and play. I have been instructing for 38 years and maintain a "lifetime" status with the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals. My methodology is geared towards the person, their natural athleticism and best practices to simplify how to get the middle of the club on the middle of the ball more consistently. Balance, tempo, timing and rhythm make up each student's approach to swinging the club and we also address pressure points with hand placement on the grip for both full swing and scoring shots. Fun is the name of the game and I pride myself on good communication and listening skills, as I have worked with ages 4 to 104 with improvement on all levels. My creative side allows me to have the correct synergy with each golfer at whatever level they have achieved in their game. Training aids are also part of the process and allows for the "fake it until you make it" approach when one must step away from the ball and club to gain insight on what their bodies must do to enhance their ball striking ability.
I enjoy being outside and am thrilled when I can get the golfer to realize and feel that the swing IS easy and find ways to help them ingrain that feel. Then when we go out to the course and they stay with the preshot routine and see the progress, that is when I am the most happy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I look to their setup 1st. There are 3 things every golfer must have to get better. Proper grip and pressure, athletic posture and an absolute system for alignment. From there, athletiscm and work ethic.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 33 years of experience in teaching all levels of players. Working with cause and effect, my very simple, effective communication skills empower the golfer to believe why they have to modify.

How did you get started teaching?
One of my managers at a nine hole golf course observed me as a starter and suggested I would make a great female teaching professional. Believing him, I applied to the LPGA and BAM, here I am 33 years later. I love to be outside, love the game of golf and it is part of my soul and God's gift to every student I work with.
What types of students have you worked with?
Raw beginners that have never held a club, mid handicappers to low handicappers for course management and decisions on short game shots.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When the student trusted their posture, reduced tension in the forearms and put their eyes up. I ask them to turn and put a swing on it and they ripped their hybrid...looked at me and said "so I do not have to keep my eyes on the ball". They had always been told to keep their head down and now they could have fun swinging the club. The smile on their face and the great golf shots they made tickled me pink.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone that can communicate clearly and succinctly, along with working cause and effect. One cannot change ball flight before changing what they are doing with the club.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Physical limitations
amount of time for practice
devotion to improvement
attitude towards failure in order to improve.
