After conversing on the phone about their expectations and goals, I make an appnt. with them to come in for an evaluation and meet and greet. After they fill out the paperwork/waiver, we review their health history and discuss any issues going on in their body. I perform a postural asessment on them to have a clearer picture of their body and if ok with the client take photos front side and back to refer back to in 6 months to compare. We then discuss what package to purchase depending on how many times a week they are able to attend and how soon they are looking for results.
I fully certified through the advanced work on all the apparatus in pilates. I am certified through level two on the GYROTONIC® Pulley Tower and certified on the Jumping Stretching Board. I have certification in cupping therapy and my 2nd degree in Reiki. I am also a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor through AFAA.
Currently we have multiple packages of 5, 10 and 15 sessions for our individual and duet sessions which are all 55 mins. in length. Group classes are in packages of 10 classes.
As a former dancer and Dressage equestrian, I have always kept fit and lived a healthy lifestyle. Having taught group exercise part time, as part of my annual certification requirement of attaining cec's, I attended a Pilates workshop and fell in love with it. It was so much like my dance background and the precision like riding horses, I decided to complete the full repertoire on all the equipment and never looked back!
I love a challenge! For me having taught for so many years, I like working with people who have physical issues in their body expecially when they've tried everything and nothing has worked. I work with alot of people who are in pain... back, shoulder, neck, spine etc. I am a last resort sometimes. I enjoy thinking outside the box and able to get creative in order to help someone.
Recently my dad came to visit me and my sis in Hawaii for 5 glorious weeks. It was great to spend the holidays together as a family. He got to see what life would be like for him, now he's planning on moving here. Yippeee!!
I would check their credentials. Find out how long they've been teaching and what their certification is, their specialty etc. Definitely meet the teacher see if you like them and get along.
They should know what their personal fitness goals are and if the teacher can help them attain those goals. Ask the teacher what their philosophy is on fitness and movement. Find out what their style of teaching is.
