About
I'm excited that you want to learn or get better at the game of golf, but I have to tell you, that in terms of golf instruction, you truly do get what you pay for.
I may be more expensive than others (though I'm quite reasonable), but that's because I've spent my life learning how to play the game and how to teach the game. Others may charge less than I do, but don't short-change yourself. If you're going to put in the time and effort to learn this game, then work with someone that will make it worth your while.
I've been a professional golfer since 1983. I've played in 76 PGA Tour events and 8 major championships. I've won the Illinois Open twice and I've been the Ilinois PGA Player of the Year 6 times. I know the game and how to teach.
I teach golfers of all skill levels—beginners to professionals, and I work with everyone, including men, women and kids over the age of 10.
I can help golfers with all phases of the game: full swing, short game, putting, course management, the mental game, tournament preparation, equipment, etc.
I enjoy helping golfers improve and enjoy the game more. I especially want to work with people who are committed to a process of improvement rather than people who are taking a single lesson to get ready for something like a golf outing.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is to get to know the person and understand their goals and practice habits. Then, based on that information, I'll create a plan to help the person get where they want to go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been teaching people of all skill levels for decades, and I'm a former PGA Tour player. I've played in 8 major Championships, I've won the Illinois Open twice and I've been player of the year in the Illinois section of the PGA 6 times. I've won 90+ professional tournanments nationwide. I know what I'm doing, and I can help you get better, even if your'e a beginner.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
When I meet someone via lessons.com, the first lesson is $80. But I prefer to work with students that are committed to a process of improvement—which means a series of lessons. If we do that, the price per hour goes up a bit. After our first lesson, if we want to work together on a regular basis, we can discuss a multi-lesson program and a price.
