Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I give every client a Functional Movement Screen & Corrective Exercise Screen to see how their body moves, strengths, weaknesses, asymmetries, injuries, etc. With this we add in depth questions and answers to determine a plan of action so we can create a roadmap for your fitness endeavor.
Nutritonal Coaching is also included for any client who needs/wants this benefit!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always learning something new and doing new fitness related certifications. I've also taught college level nutrition and exercise/sport psychology! I have been a personal trainer for over 21 years and have held a number of certifications from various sports, nutrition and fitness organizations. The certifications I've earned are: MMA Conditioning Specialist (NASM), StrongFirst SFB (Bodyweight) & SFG (Kettlebell), Women's Fitness Specialist (NASM), Sports Nutrition Specialist (ISSA), Senior Fitness Specialist (NASM), Personal Trainer (ISSA), Youth Exercise Specialist (NASM), Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM), Functional Movement Systems (FMS), PowerPlate (CPPT) and Golf Fitness Specialist (NASM).

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent Body Transformation Client was inspired by her results and became a Trainer, very awesome!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If your intuition says don't, then don't! It's important to trust your instinct....
Just because someone can work you out doesn't mean they are a trainer!
When choosing a professional you want to make sure their experience and education match up with what you've set out to accomplish.
Equally important is their vested interest in your overall health and well-being.
Sometimes you get what you pay for; a lot of people are calling themselves trainers.... they give cheap deals and hurt people.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are you a professional trainer or is this your part-time, second job?
What are your certifications, can I see them?
What other qualifications do you have?
How long have you been a trainer?
Have you ever hurt anyone?
Why should I hire you and not another trainer, what makes you better?
