Hidden Ranch Lifestyle
About
We offer spiritual experiences with horses on the ground, in the saddle, and on the trail. Horses reconnect us to nature and to ourselves. There's no time like the present to meet a horse or make a riding dream come true! You come to us, or we'll come to you- fun for the whole family:)
I love seeing people get to the next level in whatever they are working through emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically as a result of spending time with horses. For some, it's a ride. For others, simply touching or seeing a horse is enough. Helping people find their edge and grow so they may be stronger in other life departments is my gift. Doing it with the highest standards of humor and safety, based on extensive experience and training credentials, makes my work stand out from the rest.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a short get to know you session around the horses. This includes a safety talk and assessment of current ability. From there we set up a package to work together going forward based on the student, or family's goals and availability.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've trained with top trainers in both English and Western disciplines. Most notably, I've taken workshops with Monty Roberts, and those certified by Linda Kohanov, who bring us closer to working with the horse as a horse, regardless of style of riding. The biggest breahthroughs for humans happen when we get into nature with horses, as I have done working out West as a wrangler and guide on many Dude ranches for 10 years. Now I take care of my own horses and have a lot to teach others hoping to do the same, or just learn a little more about what horses have to teach us by being themselves.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $120 for the first 75 minute lesson just to meet and decide whether or not we are a good fit to work together. From there, it depends on the package and work involved in making my students dreams come true. We can do anything from learning to groom a horse to taking horses camping in faraway places, like Mount Rushmore... or giving insider tips to find the perfect Dude Ranch for you and your family out west. It all starts right here, 45 miles from Chicago:)
How did you get started teaching?
I just turned around and helped the next student in line when I was a teenager. I became captain of the gymkhana team and the rest is history. You can't give away what you haven't got.
What types of students have you worked with?
Many of my students are under the age of 6. They take lessons with and without their parents. I also teach adults and families who are looking for a fun outdoor activity to do together, or walking through a transition in their lives and seeking the healing power of horses. Teenagers and horses are also a perfect pairing. But I only take on a handful of students at any given time to keep the herd happy and provide personal attention of the highest quality to each student or family.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love teaching people of all ages to trot for the first time. Without fail, it makes everyone giggle... and that's when the fun is just beginning!
