About
Horsemanship Program
The goal of our from-the-ground-up program is to help our students reach their own personal goals while having fun, forming a magical bond with the horse/pony they ride, all while working on developing a secure seat and becoming a more effective rider.
Our students become part of our Meadowsweet Ranch family and can take advantage of the many activities, special events, over night and vacation with your horse, etc. that we offer, if they so choose.
Our program has been in existance for 16 years. I believe good horsemanship is a lifelong learning endeavor and I continue to learn so that I can better help my students achieve their personal goals.
I completed Clarke Learning Centers Level 2; was a Connected Riding Practitioner for 5 years; have worked with a number of internationally known clinicians and will continue to do so. I am also currently going through the Straightness Training Mastery course.
I think this video will give you a good feel for the atmosphere here at Meadowsweet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9EgTwyBNlo I hope you'll watch it.

I love seeing smiling faces, helping a student through a plateau, helping students reach their own personal goals, but most of all, sharing the magical world of horses and ponies with other horse and pony lovers.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students that are new to riding are started off with private lessons on a lunge-line to allow them time to develop their balance before having to deal with handling the horse or pony on their own. Once they are off the lunge-line the participate in a very varied program developing their horsemanship skills all along the way. We try to keep lessons fun and interesting for both the student and their mount through the use of cones, ground poles, caveletti's, games on horseback, riding in our indoor arena, outdoor arena, out on trail, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Completed Clarke Learning Center's Level 2 of their certification program.
Was a Connected Riding Practitioner for 5 years.
Am currently working through the Straightness Training Mastery Course.
I've worked with a number of internationally known clinicians and will continue to do so as I believe good horsemanship is a lifelong endeavor and no one can ever learn it all.
