What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I can either do 1-private lesson which is around 1-hr for $40 or I can do a lesson packege of 3 for $110. I do not provide balls. With the lesson package I include a playing lesson at Randall Oaks on either the Links or the Acorn. The playing lesson gives us a chance to work on short game, course management, golf ettiquette and more. Let me know when you'd like to meet?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have won all the age levels in the Elgin City tournament except the adult mens which I am currently striving towards winning. I played golf for a division 1 school in Ky. on golf scholarship outside of H.S.. Joined the PGA of America after I graduated college. I worked as a club professional for 3 years under some of the best instructors in the state of IL.. One of them was ranked top 10 teaching professional in the state Jim Wheeler who I learned alot from. I am now strickly a teaching professional and am passionate about teachining others the art of the swing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is still $40 per lesson and $110 for 3-lesson package. The 3rd lesson of the lesson package I provide as a playing lesson to go over short game, course management, ettiquette the mental game, and more.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching golf in junior clinics and ladies clinics at Bartlett Hill Golf Course. I now have 2-children of my own and they compete. My 13 year old won and my 16 year old got 3rd in their divisions at the annual Dundee Junior Golf Tournament 2020. Also, my 16 made it down state for her H.S. 2020 and made it to sectionals her freshman year 2019.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types and ages. I have experience working with lefties. I also am able to work with those who struggle with physical disabilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I do the beat the pro for the Kane County Chamber of Commerce and have been their pro to beat for the last 8 years. I do it as a cherity and to give back to our local business's.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you don't overpay and that your instructor has good communication, observation, patience, along with good visual references. Alot of learning takes place visually. Aside from that, have fun and enjoy the game...
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Am I willing to put the work and time into learning the game and remember that playing is alot more important than hitting balls on the range. Does your instructor do a playing lesson?
