As a high school golf coach, Joe led four teams to 2 IHSA championships and 2 runner ups 2011-2014

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initial lesson is typically 2 hrs and often includes mental and technical instructions and includes video analysis
Joe also conducts 1/2 day immersion lessons that include playing lesson format on the golf course training - based on his acclaimed book, REAL GOLF
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certifications include: SAM putt lab, Trackman, Bio Swing Dynamics, Wright Balance, Stan Utley, Hank Haney, Mike Adams trained.
How did you get started teaching?
Launched the Green to Tee Academy in 1989

Beginners through PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour players -- NCAA, IHSA, and hundreds of private and public club/course men and women

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In one fall Saturday a couple years ago, the high school team of 6 Boyplayers won the IHSA STATE Championship - two players won individuals medalist IHSA champions in 1a and 3a
and one of my HS girls led her HS team to the IHSA state championship
total of 9 state champs in 1 day....it was a magical day!!!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
find the one who cares about getting to know you
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Since there are very few teachers who are truly skilled and focused on creating learning environments --- beware the 1000's of lesson giving pro's who don't understand or study the true science of learning and performance
