How did you get started teaching?
As every golfer has experienced the frustration of not improving or being as consistent as I wanted to be I began my search for a simpler, more effective way of getting my ball from point A to point B. Once I found it I spent a few years truly undertanding it. The feeling of confidence standing over every shot knowing where the ball is going because I now trust my swing mechanics is gratifying.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work mostly with all handicaps. I've taught all varities of professions from construction workers to surgeons.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR OWN CLUBS WHEN REQUESTING A LESSON. I do not supply them.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently while golfing I was paired with a gentleman that after 8 holes asked me if I always hit the ball so straight. He kept shaking his head thinking all shots should be a little crooked I guess.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that you can relate to and with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Understand all swings are different as with all golfers have different levels of skill AND flexibility. Will the instructor adapt to what your needs are?
Your needs ie. hitting the ball further, learning to properly take a divot for better contact are results of having a more consistent swing.
Is the instructor willing to hit shots to explain certain ball flights or positions in the swing?
