About
I am offering hands on, simple golf lessons for beginners and intermediate students. I played golf in college at a Division II level and have worked at Crooked Stick Golf Club and Wolf Run Golf Club in the area. I am been giving lessons for 12 years now and have coached several middle school golf teams in the area.
Golf is a great game. My goal is to help my students think first and then apply it to their golf swing through drills that produce muscle memory.
I enjoy seeing my clients start hitting the golf ball as if they have played all their lives. I also enjoy getting to know new people.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first listen to what the student is trying to accomplish for their golf swing and why. Then from there I will help them understand the drills and why we are doing those. Then I will help them through drills to acheive their golf goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I played Division II golf at Hardin Simmons University. After college I started teaching private golf lessons. I have also worked as a caddy at Crooked Stick Golf Course for 3 years and have learned some valuable tips there. I also worked as a outdoor facilities manager at Wolf Run Golf Club and learned from the pro there. I have also recently have spent number of years coaching a middle school golf team out in Avon, IN.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I want to make golf lessons affordable for the average golfer. I charge $30/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching right after I graduated from college. It was a great part time job as I was figuring out what to do with my degree.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with adults and youth from beginners to intermediate golfers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I absolutely love the US Open Golf Championships. I love it because of the difficulty of the course year after year. Last year it was at Oakmont Country Club and we saw Dustin Johnson with it. The year before that it was at Chambers Bay Golf Club and we saw Jordan Speith win. I look forward to watching the coverage in June when it is held at Erin Hills Golf Course.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say there are couple of factors...cost, experience, and personality.
Cost - the average golfer shouldnt have to pay an arm and leg for lessons.
Experience - look at the instructors experience level. Obviously im not at a head pro level but I believe with my experience that I can teach the game.
Personality - I am an easy going and personable guy. I am passionate about seeing your golf game improve.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say it is very important to set goals. Start with a huge goal like hitting the ball straight with every club...then from there start making smaller goals that will help you reach the huge goal. As an instructor I can help student develop and reach small goals to get to the larger goal.
