I have been in the game of golf since a young child. I played high school golf, played division I college golf, coach a high school golf team for 15 years and continue to give individual and group lessons.

I will initially evaluate the golfers swing, set up a plan for adjustments, give the golfer things to practice and eventually get to the course for a playing lesson (if requested).

I love seeing someone light up when they figure out they are catching onto the game of golf. This game takes practice, patience and more practice. Watching a golfers score drop, even by a few strokes, is an exciting thing to see.

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I will evaluate the golfers experience, construct a plan for adjustments, assignment practice, then eventually once the golfer is ready, we will move out to the course. If the golfer is experienced and wants to start with a playing lesson, that is what will happen.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I played Division 1 college golf. I have coached a high school golf team for the past 15 years. I have given individual and group golf lessons for the past 15 years.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I am happy to go to particular parts of town to accomodate where the student lives to give the lessons. That being said, depending on the drive an hour lesson would between $35-$45 per hour. The golfer will be responsible for the purchase of the range balls.

A package of lessons could be bought which would be discussed.

A playing lesson would be $50 for 9 holes.

How did you get started teaching?

I actually got started teaching while I was at the course practicing my chipping and putting. A dad and his son were there and the dad was trying to teach his son how to play. He was not being very successful. I offered the child a few pointers and the dad asked if he could hire me to teach his son how to play. The rest is history.

Ages 6-60 year olds.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I have been teaching zack how to play golf since he was 8 years old. Zack is now 19 years old and playing Division I golf and just won golfer of the year. I am so proud of him and what he has accomplished.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for a teacher that you feel comfortable working with, who pushes you to your full potential, who is an encourager but firm when needs to be and most importantly one who exposes you to the joy of the game of golf.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

1. Do I have the equipment I need or have the ability to get the equipment?

2. Am I committed to practice outside of lesson time?

3. Do I understand that golf is not the easiest game to pick up right away and patience has to be a part of this game.
