Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work on getting the correct foundation in position to make riders feel strong, secure and safe in the saddle. Riding is fun and should be fun but safety and a systematic system is important to make progress interesting and educational.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduate of United States Pony Club. A International Event Rider at the 4* level. Competed at the Kentucky Three Day event many times. Have produced dozens of rider over the past three decades from the grass roots up. Have ridden and trained with the best in the industry and still continue to. And host several Clinics a year having in Olympic Riders to teach the correct system of training riders and horses. Many of my students enjoy just having fun and doing low level eventing and many of my riders go on to win 3 Day Events, National Championships and ride in the National Junior Young Rider Championship!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I started formal lessons as a 12 year old, I was a horse crazed child, it’s all I ever wanted and it was my choice at a very young age to be a teacher and horse trainer. For over three decades I have been living my dream!
What types of students have you worked with?
My first big teaching opportunity was at 18 years old a Equestrian Camp hired me to teach for a two week camp session. Then I was hired at a local stable to teach school horse lessons to beginners and intermediate riders. Later I had my own business with 2 assistant instructor under me with 8/10 school horses. I then focused solely on clients with their own event/show horses while I was also competing at the Advanced level of eventing.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I hosted a Karen O’Connor (A 5 time Olympian) Friday Educational Symposium followed up with a two Day Riding clinic for 20 riders that came from 5 states to attend the clinic. Kentucky 3* Day event did In not happen in 2020, but this is a yearly highlight for sure.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure you hire a instructor that truly knows correct theory and has a solid system in what they are teaching. And that they are encouraging but yet firm when needed. And that your personality works with theirs!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are theire goals and aspirations.
