My name is Andrew Headman and I gained my PGA membership in July of 2021. April through November I am the Director of Instruction at Essex County Club in Manchester-By-The-Sea, Massachusetts. During the offseason, I work as the main instructor at The Claire Batista Golf Academy in Ottawa Lake, Michigan.

I pride myself on a simplistic approach which helps make each of my student's swings work best for them. I lean on communication, knowledge, and patience to help my students learn best.

Originally from Sylvania, Ohio, I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2020, where I studied Marketing and Professional Golf Management.

Prior to Essex County Club and Claire Batista Golf Academy, I have previously worked at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia and Cape Cod National Golf Club in Brewster, Massachusetts. Working at both of these prestigious facilities has helped me develop a true passion for teaching and growing the game of golf.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Go over the students goals and try to get a better understanding of the type of golfer they want to be. Work on the fundamentals and make them a better overall golfer.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified and working towards my class A PGA certification.
