About this pro

I speak fluent Spanish and English.  I spent a year abroad in Spain during my junior year in college.  Before that, I studied in both high school and college studying advanced Spanish.  I am able to converse with any dialect in Spanish, no matter where the person comes from.

I want to help people learn Spanish and be able to converse with one another effectively & confidently.  I enjoy helping learn Spanish, and be able to get comfortable speaking at Level I (travel purposes), and Level II (social situations); and lastly, Level III (job opportunities).

I was very impressed with Sean's knowledge of Spanish, and his ability to adapt to my learning style. He was never impatient, and was also very flexible around my schedule. I was very satisfied.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to ask them their background:  if it's for the first time, or simply just to brush up on their skills.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

-Lived a year in Spain during my junior year in college in an immersion program

-Taught in the Boston area high school Spanish

-Held demanding jobs in the Boston medical community to help the Latino population

-Graduated from Graduate School and earned my Teacher's Certification

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My fee is $40 per 1 hour session.  The cancellation fee will be $10 if I'm given only an hour's notice.

How did you get started teaching?

I did my student teaching during Graduate School, and then taught FT in a local HS.

What types of students have you worked with?

Both high school students and adults.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

When I start speaking Spanish, no matter the population, I still get a reaction of surprise when they realize that I speak as well as they do!  This happens in both social & professional settings.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I've been told that I'm tough, but patient!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

-The amount of time they want to devote in order to grasp Spanish

-What is the individual's goal to learn a new skill?
