He has a very professional set of teaching approach and always comes up with practical advice in theory, techniques, ear training, etc. He is a great teacher, an amazing guitar player, and overall just an awesome person to chat with." In the short time l have studied with him I have greatly improved my study habits, music reading and guitar skills to a much higher level than I would have thought possible. Daniel H. says, "Mike is a very nice guy, easy to get along with and a true master of his craft. My only mild complaint is that he knows so much that his default level of expectation for newbies (like me) is a little high. That being said, I was thrilled to have worked with him and look forward to working with him again when circumstances allow." Read more

"When you take lessons with Tony, you're not just taught chords so you can play a Van Halen or a Nirvana riff. You're taught the fundamentals in a way that you become familiar, almost in tune with your guitar. If you find any other knucklehead that can do that, I'll pay for your lessons. Actually, I won't, but you should take lessons with Tony anyway. He's that good." - Jessica Green "Tony kicks the most ass of any guitar teacher out there. He is patient and encouraging, but in no time will have you playing things you didn't think you could play. He will give you a good music foundation while letting you learn the music you like the most. If...

Charlie B. says, "I have been a classical guitar student of Bill's for the past 6 months. In retirement, I have decided to take what was an "off and on" affair with the classical guitar (I'm not a beginner) and, instead, commit the necessary time and energy to truly learning the instrument. These have been my first serious classical guitar lessons. Prior to these lessons, I was entirely "self-taught" which means I created a whole bunch of bad habits for myself and was not progressing at all. Bill refers to me as a "remedial" student which I think is a perfect description of my playing. Through Bill, I have learned proper technique which, in turn, has improved my tonality and musicality with the classical guitar. Bill has identified my bad habits, broken them down, shown the proper way to overcome them and makes sure I don't "back-slide" into my bad habits again. Bill paces the lessons according to ability, not covering material that's too advanced while still ensuring that the lesson is challenging. In each lesson, Bill is positive, encouraging yet kindly critical so that I know I am making progress yet always aware of what areas I need to work on. Bill has the right "make-up" for a teacher and I am pleased, and without reservation, to give Bill a 5 star rating. " Read more

I've been taking guitar lessons with Grey for exactly 2 months and I'm thrilled with my experience and progress. I tried, in vain, to learn guitar on my own for several years and finally decided to take a different approach. After our lessons together, I can play many songs I've always wanted to learn. Grey customizes each lesson based on your learning goals. He identifies your weaknesses and develops a plan to strengthen them. I feel fortunate to have an instructor like Grey who is knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. Whether you're a beginner like me or more proficient, I cannot recommend Grey highly enough. “My lessons with Bob have been such an exciting experience! If you are willing to put in the time and follow Bob's expert teaching, you will be able to play beautiful music and bring a new joy to your life. Bob's gifted talent and vast experience is impressive, his love of music and desire to share his passion is inspiring. Open communication is key, Bob welcomes your questions, he feels that no questions are silly or stupid, especially if you're new at this! He wants your feedback and encourages dialog to make your lessons meaningful and the best for you!” Mary G

What I like most about Russell is that he is such an enthusiast and encyclopedic savant of modern and classic folk, rock, blues and country. If he doesn't know the song from memory, he'll fire it up on his phone and figure it out in real time. And he readily adjusts to what you want and need. If you just want a partner to play with, that's fine with him. If you want to go deep on music theory, he's there for you as well.

He was patient and didn’t expect a lot from me, knowing that I know nothing about guitar which makes me feel relaxed not rushed. Looking forward to the next,

Varis taught both of my boys piano (first instrument) and then continued to teach one of my sons guitar. He instilled a love for music which has had a lasting effect. He's a talented musician himself which was inspiring for my sons. He's also super accessible and works with each student based on their music interests and skills/needs for development. Having the lessons at home was extremely convenient given our hectic schedules, and Varis was always super flexible if we needed to make a scheduling shift. My only "constructive criticism" is that with only half an hour for a lesson, I wish more time was spent on things that couldn't be done without Varis there (i.e. warming up, looking up online resources, etc.) Overall very happy!

I started lessons with Bill to learn classical guitar after 5 years of self-taught electric and steel string acoustic playing. My playing has improved immensely since I started working with him. Not only has he introduced me to classical guitar but he has taught me how to effectively practice to constantly improve. Bill has a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw upon and I cannot say enough good things. A++
