Growing up I was a mostly self-taught musician then later received my music degree at Bennington College. Because of those two experiences I understand the drive to learn using songs you love, but also the advantages to formal theory and technique. Over the years since, I've used that approach to teach a variety of students with lots of different tastes the songs they love.
