Andrew Wester Golf Performance Training
About
I am a PGA Apprentice Teaching Professional, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Professional (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). I offer strength and Conditioning sessions for adult and junior golfers, as well as individual and group golf instruction outdoors, with indoor individual lessons throughout the winter months.
My passion is to help educate and improve the abilities of golfers of all ages and skill levels, from a young junior golfer up to an elderly golfer. I love to see the joy in people when they succeed at hitting a solid golf shot and watching the ball do what they envisioned it would.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a student for the first time, depending on their previous experience, as well as their goals in the game of golf, I will take them through a full swing evaluation, as well as potentially an on-course evaluation in order to determine the strengths and weaknesses in their game and how best to help them improve. For the more advanced golfers, a physical evaluation will also take place, looking at how well the golfer is able to move through set ranges of motion in order to determine physical limitations that could impair their golfing ability currently or down the road. Following the evaluation, we will determine the most appropriate course of action in order to help the golfer succeed and improve over time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a PGA Apprentice Teaching Professional, I have trained under many of the top instructors in and around New England, as well as working with many of the top Junior and Amateur golfers. Through these experiences, as well as through my time as a competitive amateur and professional golfer, I have grown as an instructor and a person in order to better educate golfers on the flaws in their swings and how best to address them and improve their game.
As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, I am certified to evaluate each individual athlete's physical abilities and limitations in order to determine how that effects their golf game, and how best to improve their physical fitness and overall athleticism in the game of golf. Through improving flexibility, mobility, strength, endurance, and power, we can improve each golfer's swing, as well as their overall fitness and ability to compete on a daily basis at the golf course.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching and helping with golf camps and instruction as a young golfer, helping set up or clean up the lesson tee for junior or adult clinics, and by working with multiple golf instructors as a young golfer. As I grew and worked at different golf courses, I had the opportunity to help teach multiple junior camps and work with many different golfers in order to aid them in improving their golf game. Once done playing Division I collegiate golf, I continued working with many top junior golfers from throughout New England, helping to teach and coach them as they pursued collegiate golf scholarships. Over time I grew more and more in love with helping golfers improve their game and helping them succeed.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with top golfers from multiple colleges such as Davidson, U Richmond, U Washington - St. Louis, Bryant U, URI, Fairfield, Columbia U, Sacred Heart U, and many others. As well as many top collegiate golfers, I have worked with many top Juniors in and around New England. Along the way I have also helped many golfers from those learning how to hold a golf club to long time country club members looking to gain a few extra yards on their drives.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are a younger golfer looking to take your game to the next level, I have multiple years of experience in aiding golfers in their quest for greatness. Similarly, for those learning to play the game, or trying to shave a few shots off of their handicap, every golfer is unique in their own right, and every golfer has an equally individualized way of fixing their swing and improving their golf game.
