I heard Perlman’s playing of Beethoven violin concerto and Miles Davis’ jazz solo on So What today, I want to be able to do both! 1) Play the violin 2) Know the music 3) Emulate the giants 4) Express yourself Every style of music has its learning curve, I help students building solid violin performance skills, which is the key to access creativity(ultimately, it becomes part of your voice). After, with an efficient system of musicality training (Music Theory, Ear Training, History Knowledge...etc), students would be able to play different styles depending on their desire (Classical, Jazz, World, Old Time...etc), in the end be able to fully ex...

Hello music lover! My name is Anaís and I have a degree in Music Composition and Theory with a concentration in piano from Boston University. I also studied voice at Whole Tone Music Academy with Nora Maynard. I have been teaching songwriting and group voice for over a year at the Hyde Square Task Force in Jamaica Plain and have been freelancing compositions for chamber ensembles and arranging for orchestra and string quartet. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or expert, I can help you hone and develop your skills as a guitarist, bassist and vocalist by keeping you inspired by your love of music. I have three decades of experience performing live and recording and live sharing what I’ve learned with others as the best way to grow as a player is by doing it with someone as opposed to alone. Whatever your goals are, be it learning songs or bettering your skills, I am here to help. Drop me a line and let’s go!

I really didn’t know the true potential of my voice until I started taking lessons at Bristol. There is a great deal to be learned in these lessons, and if you work at it results come pretty quickly. The classes are super fun and the teachers are knowledgeable, confident and very helpful. Definitely worth checking out even if you just like to sing for fun.

Varis taught both of my boys piano (first instrument) and then continued to teach one of my sons guitar. He instilled a love for music which has had a lasting effect. He's a talented musician himself which was inspiring for my sons. He's also super accessible and works with each student based on their music interests and skills/needs for development. Having the lessons at home was extremely convenient given our hectic schedules, and Varis was always super flexible if we needed to make a scheduling shift. My only "constructive criticism" is that with only half an hour for a lesson, I wish more time was spent on things that couldn't be done without Varis there (i.e. warming up, looking up online resources, etc.) Overall very happy!

Brayden is a very patient and kind teacher. He has a wealth of knowledge and passion for music from years of experience and study. He’s great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging. He's taught me the basics of guitar and knows how to keep students motivated and challenged. I am off to a great start thanks to his help. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
