Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always begin with the pre-swing fundamentals; grip, alignment, ball position, posture, etc. For the back and through swings I try to keep it as simple as I can so that a students swings freely.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been to several National, Regional and local training seminars and have been recognized by the PGA of America for my education background. And, I am the recepient of the PGA's Horton Smith Award for outstanding and continuing conditions to developing and enhancing educational opportunities for other PGA Professional's.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My individual lessons are $65.00 for 45 minutes. The cost for 2 or more individuals is negotiable.
How did you get started teaching?
I started playing the game at the age of 10. I always admired the PGA Professional at the course where I grew up and decided that is what I wanted to do for a career. My passion grew with success and experience.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have been very successful with junior golfers, women and men. I can get a beginner golfer headed in the right direction very quickly and I have the experience and know how to work with better players who need specialized attention.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In my junior golf schools I have 80 students. It is so much fun to watch a junior hit the ball and fall in love with the game of golf.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Keep it simple! Get into a good pre-swing set-up and learn to swing the golf club freely.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do they have any physical limitations, what is their previous experience in othe sports and how much are they willing to practice.
