Janelle’s Personal Training/Lifestyle Fitness/Wellness Coaching
About
Specializing in functional fitness training, flexibility, mobility, postural/core stability, and strength for seniors. Functional fitness is the ability to perform activities of daily living that a person will encounter in their day-to-day life. Such as squatting (in order to get in and out of a chair or to lower/lift an object safely), shoulder flexion (in order to reach for something on a high shelf), triceps flexion/extension (in order to push oneself up from a chair or out of bed), etc. A regular exercise program is effective for improving all of these. This requires practice, training, and experience. Having a personal trainer encourages accountability, commitment and consistency. It is very hard to do it alone. I listen to my client's objectives and personalize an exercise prescription to help them learn safe and efficient movements to reach their desired goals, while avoiding injury. It's never too late to make lifestyle changes!
I live an active lifestyle. I was a competitive bicyclist for 10 years and have maintained a lifelong dedication to fitness learning. My three certifications are through World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.).
As a mother and grandmother with arthritis, I understand fitness related problems such as loss of flexibility, muscle strength and fatigue.
