Hoffmann Golf Lessons

Matt is a local PGA Professional with over 17 years of teaching and club fitting experience. He has spent his entire life working in the golf industry in such positions as Tournament Coordinator, Head Golf Professional, Retail Store Manager, Club Fitter, and Teaching Professional. His knowledge of the golf swing, ability to assess the physical capabilities of the student and flexible approach to teaching is designed to help each student achieve his/her specific short and long term goals. He believes that technology and training techniques help to accelerate the learning process for the student which makes it easier to comprehend and a more enjoyable experience.

Matt’s Teaching Philosophy:

“I believe that teaching golf should be fun and at the same time goal oriented. I feel that there are certain fundamentals that are important to all golfers; however, the method and approach to teaching may or will vary for each student. I feel that the overall success of a lesson is based on achieving the goals set forth by the student. I am always open to new and innovative ways to improve my teaching.”

Matt’s Approach to Teaching:

“I believe that a lesson should start with an interview period where you discuss the background from which the student comes, and the short/long term goals that are desired. Then we move to the analysis part of the lesson where I get to observe the students overall motion and assess the situation. Once we have diagnosed the overall issue(s) affecting performance, I then recommend an appropriate corrective action plan. We set realistic goals and focus on the priority needs. Next, I recommend any drills or key thoughts to practice until the next lesson. Finally, we wrap up with a question and answer session that helps me to see if the student understands the lesson and can see the direction in which his/her game will proceed.”
