My name is Samiat.  I am a physical therapist as well as fitness instructor.  I love to dance and workout.  I enjoy it so much that I recieved my degree in Exercise physiology and later on Physical Therapy.  I enjoy helping people recover from injury or illness.  I also enjoy helping people get back in shape or lose weight.

I provide 2 types of services: Physical therapy and fitness training:

Physical therapy focus on rehabilitation due to pain, injury or surgery.

Fitness training focus on strength training, weight lose program, and Pilates.

I enjoy helping people heal from injury or eliminate any pain, i.e back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain or hip pain.  I love working out and I want to teach others how to workout and enjoy it.  I want to show my clients that exercise can be fun as well.

I can't find a better description for experience and professionalism. You know when you see someone who loves what they do and care about their patients. I would definitely recommend Tandem Rehab Services to my family and friends. Thank you

My provider was very patient and gentle. They listened to me and asked questions about my injury to better understand my needs. They did not hasten me during our sessions and actually stayed pass their appointment to make sure I completed my set of exercises. I love them and will continue to use their service until I get well.

She's very professional, explains what she's going to do and talk to you while working with you. I liked the way she worked with me with my shoulders.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First, new student will fill out a questionaire about what they want to achieve with each session and their overall goals.  We discussed each goals and ways to accomplish it.  We determine the best way to accomplish each task and incorporate that each individual will enjoy.  We also discuss barriers.  The things that makes it difficulty to accomplish each goals and how to overcome it.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a license physical therapist. So, you can call me Dr. Samiat....lol. Anyways, I have worked with individuals that are recovery from injury, pain or surgery.  Also, I am license in group fitness and zumba.  I help my clients recover from injuries as well as develop a fitness program for healthy lifestyle.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching over 10years ago with my physical therapy practice.  I enjoyed helping my clients recover from injury, pain, or surgeries.  After my client graduate from therapy.  They usually seek fitness programs.

So I will provide some exercise programs.  At the time, I was taking pilates and zumba classes at my local gym.  So I decided to incorporate zumba and pilates into my fitness program.  Zumba is great for fitness training and pilates is great for stretching and toning.  It is the perfect combination.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with individuals who are recovery from injury and main focus is strength training and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  Also, individual who wants to lose weight or have a target weight goals that they want to achieve.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We had an event for a little girl tha was recently diagnosed with cancer.  The goal was to raise money for her family for medical bills.  The event was very successful.  Many people came out to support the cause.  We raised a lot of money for her.  It was really impressed by all the support.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The best advice I can give is: think about what you want and why.  After you decide, don't wait, just act on it.  If the goal is to lose weight.  Look at the calendar, pick a date and take action.

Another thing, when you decide to take action.  Just show up even when you don't feel like it.  When you show up, you already met 80% of your goals.  You will feel better after your workout.  And you will start seeing results before you know it.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

1. What they want out of the class?

2. What they hope to achieve and the end of the sessions?

3. What is keeping them from starting the program?

4.  How to overcome those challenges that is in the way of their sucess?

5. When are they thinking about starting?
