Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Starting by communicating with student, understanding their goals and desires for the game of golf, learn about their experiences with the game, and then starting the process of diagnosing their current swing and creating a plan for success, based on all of that information.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a coach for most of my adult life and was a very technical student of the game of golf all my life. I started teaching golf at the Links of Challedon golf course three years ago, and have truly loved it. I have been mentored by a couple excellent golf pros at The Links at Challedon.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $70 per hour, however, all of my lessons will run over one hour, usually close to one hour and 30 minutes for the $70. If you'd like to set up hey series of lessons, group lessons, or couples lessons. I am very flexible I will be glad to work something reasonable out. I am retired and teach golf because I love doing it and have had very happy customers.
How did you get started teaching?
I have had a passion for coaching since my college sports playing days have been over. The passion I have for coaching in my early 20s has remained for now over 35 years and I have taken that experience along with my knowledge of the game of golf to provide you with an enjoyable experience of learning and improving at golf.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all levels of students from very young ages to very old ages and physical abilities.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There are a lot of instructors out there who know a lot about the game of golf. What I have found in my years is, not everyone can translate that information any manner that fits a wide variety of personalities, swings, and physical abilities. I believe my ability to do so set me apart from many that have been teaching the game of golf longer than me.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think the main question is, what are your goals for the game of golf. It's a great game that can be played by anyone for a lifetime.
