About
Deborah is the owner-manager of Dedication Dressage named appropriately for her lifelong passion for horses and teaching people of all abilities. Deborah is a triple certified licensed MD public school teacher who designs each riding lesson to meet individual learning styles of both horse and rider. She teaches the why's and not just the how-to's in order to shape independent riders and build confidence in the saddle.
Deborah has trained with many outstanding trainers for over 30 years. She has trained her own KWPN gelding by Negro, from 3 years old to PSG.
If you choose to trailer your horse to the farm, you will be delighted with the state of the art dustless indoor arena equipped with IGK footing (wax, rubber, and fiber), mirrors and fans. Deborah is also willing to rravel to your farm.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before a lesson you can expect to talk about your long term and short term goals, your abilities, and areas you'd like to improve. If you ride solely for pleasure that's fine, too. Not everyone enjoys competing. If you have been setback by a riding accident we discuss strategies for overcoming fear and conveying confidence to the horse. We will discuss what an ideal lesson looks like for you. The next steps are mounted. If you do not have a horse of your own, I can provide one.
At the end of the lesson we discuss plusses, deltas, and what you've learned, so we can make our next lesson even more beneficial.
