Simon Dewsbury Golf
About
British PGA Professional with over 20 years experience in all aspects of the game. Coached, Caddied and Played on Tour, so can relate to the highest levels, while also remembering that I didn’t turn Professional the first day I hit a golf ball, and can also break down the game to simple concepts for beginners and everyone in between.
Seeing students realise and understand the changes needed in a “eureka” moment when they feel a difference in their swing and can control the ball better makes my day.
when students then transfer the skill set from the range to the course and give me feedback that they’re enjoying the game again and to a better level is the icing on the cake.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have an initial assessment that my students complete. This allows me to understand their strengths and weaknesses to create a development plan for improvement.

PGA Qualified, I have been fortunate in my career to have some incredible mentors that I have and still do learn from, and over 20 years of coaching beginners through to Tour Professionals.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$95 per hour for members at Belmont Country Club.
$125.00 per hour for non members who are referred by Belmont C C members.
$150 per hour for all others.
How did you get started teaching?
I gave my first lessons when I was 15 working with my cousin who was a European Tour Professional to assist him with junior coaching during the summer holidays.
It ignited a passion for coaching and sharing my knowledge for the game of golf which hasn’t disappeared over 25 years later.
What types of students have you worked with?
Everyone from Beginners through to Tour Professionals and Long Drive World Record Holders. Juniors, Adults, Boys and Girls, Ladies and Men.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Mentoring Leslie Cloots on the Symetra Tour and Caddying for her at the LPGA Symetra Tour Championship was fantastic, seeing her develop beyond college golf to the Professional ranks is thrilling.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you feel comfortable with and trust that they can explain the game and swing concepts to you in a way you easily understand. There has to be a positive bond between both student and coach otherwise the information being passed on won’t be fully understood or trusted to be implemented to make positive changes.
