About
We love teaching people with an interest in horses in a family oriented setting. Instructors are ushja certified, which includes cpr, concussion awareness classes, along with going through safe sport testing
We train ages 5 on up at all levels, plus offer camps & horseshows for those interested. We also offer an IEA team along with coaching the university of Michigan equestrian team.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Start off with an evaluation lesson if you have some experience. If you haven’t ridden & are 7 years old or older we just put you in a small group lesson. It helps to see/hear others working on the same things.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been involved with horses my whole life. Taught/trained for 30 years. Still take lessons, attend clinics, horseshows & am certified with the USHJA (United States Hunter Jumper Association). I am also active member on the boards of the MHJA (Michigan Hunter Jumper Association) & HJAM (Hunter Jumper Association of Michigan).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$50 for private lessons (30 minutes)
$40 for group lessons (4-6 people, 1 hr)
lessons are $10 less if on your own horse.
How did you get started teaching?
I worked/apprenticed with other trainers for several years to learn the business from the ground up.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with all ages & levels. We are an English hunter/jumper barn. We have customers that just enjoy the horses & basic riding while learning new skills, some show locally & others show nationally. It's entirely up to you & your goals. We are happy to help you in the right direction- whatever that may be
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go watch & visit the farm. Make sure the horses look shiney & healthy, along with talking to the other clients around.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What their goals are. Do you just want to be around horses, learn something new, be outdoors with fresh air, exercise, learn to jump or compete? Lots of options! Are you more outgoing or timid? In the beginning it's just the basics & you can decide where your interests lie as you go.
