Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students will take an evaluation lesson for us to access their skills and ability's on horse back and to discuss their goals. Once we see their ability's we can create a schedule for each rider in order to help them progress and reach their riding goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have personally been riding and competing since a young age. I have always been passionate towards bringing young and green horses along and have done so for the past 8 years. I have years of experience expanding the knowledge of riders trying to progress in their riding skills at home and especially in the show ring.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
On a school horse:
Evaluation lessons $50
Private Lessons $50
Group Lessons $40
On your own horse:
Evaluation lesson $50
Private lesson $40
Group lesson $30
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginner riders from ages 2 and up that have never sat on horseback before, and riders of all ages that have different levels of experience, specifically those who have goals in the horse showing community. I specialize in Hunter/jumper training and teach the correct basics to provide a safe and fun learning experience for each and every horse enthusiast.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise each student to speak with and meet multiple trainers in order to find one that they feel most comfortable with. Each trainer has a different teaching method and not every student is going to learn the same. Find a trainer that understands you and your goals and one that can support those goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The biggest thing each student should ask themselves is what are my goals in riding and if they are comfortable with the progress they are making.
