Swing Catalyst Certified Instructor

Played in several U.S. Amateur Championships, British Amateur, National Publinx Championships.  Won local and state golf championships.

I make learning the golf swing enjoyable, not a chore.  I use Video Analysis with my lessons to assist students in the learning process. Specific golf drills are given each lesson that reinforce what was discussed and shown during the lesson to help the student build a sound golf swing.

I truly enjoy the students as they get that aha moment when the learning really hits home.  Having a job where you get to see the student improve  right before your eyes is really cool as well.  It is tremendously satisfying knowing that the thousands and thousands of hours that I have put in view golf swings enables students to reach their golf goals.

Kevin is a very down to earth guy and explains everything very well. With 3 lessons I went from shooting mid 90's to mid to upper 80's. He works with your swing and gives you drills to work on between lessons. He also gave me a mini lesson on chipping and putting... hoping that will lower my score even more. Thanks Kevin!

Kevin has been very helpful. He recommended a completely new swing. It felt different but after persevering, my consistency has improved. I look forward to my next lessons with Kevin.

Kevin suggests practical tweaks to improve my swing that are easy to practice outside of the lesson. The videos provided at the beginning were also very helpful!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

After the student has warned up, I Video their swing so we have a baseline of where the student started.  After a quick review of their swing I formulate a lesson plan. I work with the student to set a few goals and based on that, we work on the area of the students swing that will bring the student the biggest benefit.

How did you get started teaching?

From playing in national and state championships, friends, and fellow competitors asked for help with their swings. I found that I enjoyed helping others improve their swings.  And that started thousands and thousands of hours studying the golf swing!!!

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with players of all levels, from those just beginning the game, all the way to professionals and every step between.  I truly enjoy working with players of all skill levels and enjoy my job.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently started teaching a gentleman who just turned 70 and wanted to learn the game of golf.  It was an awesome experience and I felt lucky that I was able to be a part of teaching him a game that truly lasts a lifetime.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

1.  Make sure your instructor has a sound understanding of the fundamentals of the golf swing.

2.  An instructor with a competitive golf background also brings the benefit of years of tournament experience and shot making expertise that definitely benefits the student.

3.  I meet those criteria and so much more.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Students should think about what they would like to achieve from their lessons.

Ask the instructor about their teaching  Philosophy.
