Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We first do a consultation to determine their actual needs and that way we can match them up with the right trainer and right program.
Typically our clients all commit to at least 12 weeks and come in 1-4 times per week based on their self accountability, how aggressive their goal is, their budget and availability. There is an individual and small group training option. All clients are given homework and plans to do on their own at their own home gym, on the road or at our gym for when they are not working the trainer. We assess them every 4 weeks to check progress towards goals. Our trainers and nutrition coaches will check in weekly for accountability and making sure clients are moving towards their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold 4 accredited certifications and have 23 years experience as a fitness professional. I also hold a 4 year bachelor of science degree from Mankato State in corporate/community fitness and park, recreationand leisure services.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We generally price plans monthly and lessons can run fro group training $22.50-$27/session and individual sessions run anywhere from $50-$55/session. There is an option to prepay all your months up front and receive a discount.
How did you get started teaching?
I started working part time in a YMCA in college and it came naturally to me as I have enjoyed fitness since I was 15 years old.
What types of students have you worked with?
Many middle aged people with jont issues and having trouble losing weight and getting on track with their exercise. We help busy people see success with their fitness without being in the gym for hours on end.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Helping a client get rid of her wheel chair and walk again even when the doctors said she never would. She is now completely independent and never uses a wheelchair.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure they are certified and have testimonials to prove they can do what they say they can.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Get clear on their goals and the reason they are looking for this type of service. The more clear you are on those things the better we can help you out and the more likley you are to be successful.
