Z-Ultimate Self Defense

As a company with more than 70 schools in the US, Z-Ultimate Self Defense prides itself on personalizing each student's martial arts experience so that they can get the best out of themselves and feel empowered. We do this in order to help each student capitalize on their abilities, while being mindful of their particular needs and encouraging them to develop themselves in a balanced, fun way using our Dynamic Mastery method of instruction.

Personally, I've been involved in martial arts since 1985. I have run schools since graduating from college in 1993. I've been fortunate to work with students in Connecticut, Washington, and now Minnesota. I've worked with world-class teachers in many different disciplines, including 5 years of Taekwondo, 10+ in each of praying mantis kung fu, wushu, and taichi, and 32 years in Kempo Karate.

Personally, I really enjoying working with people because I love to help them overcome obstacles, encourage them to develop into the best version of themselves, and see their growth over the long-term. The average student at the schools I've worked at is so happy with my services that they stay for 38 months (the industry average is 7 months the last time I checked).

In addition, because I get to work with people over long periods of time and not just in a group setting, I am fortunate to get to know them really well and they often become friends.
