After working with Maria for several years I am now enjoying the game of golf more than ever. She is very mindful of my abilities, limitations and therefore offers personal instruction that works best for me to have more fun playing golf with friends.

Thoughtful, individual guidance in vocabulary that I understood (vs. golf parables). For example "Focus on keeping your right knee a bit bent in your swing" vs. others who say, "you're standing up when you swing"....specific and actionable areas to focus on...much needed and much appreciated as this "old dog" is trying "new tricks"...Beginner golfer (in my 50s)

I mostly enjoyed taking 15 strokes off my handicap in 2 years. I gained so much confidence and to understand much better how to correct shots when I am not swinging well. I really enjoyed my lessons because they were all specific to my needs. I was able to fix issues in a "proper" and logical order because I fixed one issue it could cause another. Eventually, with much practice between lessons, the number of issues was decreased. I am sure I can improve further if I continue to take lessons and practice.

Maria Palozola is a nationally recognized golf instructor with a profound knowledge of the golf swing kinematics, and all the technical equipment you could want to manage your swing changes, but her biggest asset is the ability to find a way to communicate with each individual about a swing thought, idea or feeling. She help you if just want a band aid, or a package for a long term change. I have been with her for 3 years and have seen huge changes to my understanding of the golf swing.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge by the hour or by the half hour and offer 4 hour packages.  I also offer group programs, clinics and golf schools.

How did you get started teaching?

I played professionally first and then joined the PGA and LPGA Teaching division my first year out of college.

What types of students have you worked with?

Tour professionals all the way down to rank beginners.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for someone that specializes in teaching and does it full time.  It can make a huge difference vs choosing someone who teaches part time.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What kind of physical shape are they in?  Is their equipment properly fit?  What are their goals? How much time do they have to devote to practice?
