We are known for the best place for kids to learn proper horsemanship in our area. I have been teaching riders for 50 + years. We enjoy teaching the youth to ride. We will do our best to work with the ones that cannot afford to. But really want to. We do kids horse camps through the summer months. The kids will get a minimum of 25 hours of riding. We also take our advanced youth camping with their horses. To watch a kid gain confidence and responsibility is a great reward.
I love to see kids have a great understanding and a relationship with their horse. The self esteem, confidence, growth in being able to focus and growth in responsibility is great. I see too many kids put on a horse in the wrong environment and an uncontrolled situation. That just makes me cringe. Every kid that has the love for horses should have the opportunity to learn correctly and safely.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We work with all of our students from the ground up. They must learn proper catching, leading, tying, grooming and then saddling. Then we work on balance and control. When we have that we can move up in our gaits and learn proper horse etiquette in the arena and on the trail .
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been riding since I was 2. I was giving other kids lessons when I was 11 years old. I was lucky enough to live in a state that had lots of professional horse trainers in and around my neighborhood. I was fortunate enough to either work for them were they would ask me to show their horses to get youth points on them. My parents always had young horses that needed riding and the trainers always saw me riding different horses. I have been lucky enough to work at several disciplines with other trainers. I have been training outside horses since I was 16. The biggest part of my business has been built by word-of-mouth from my clients .
