Collier's Catching And Hitting

I enjoy taking a ball player that is ok and helping him stand out amoung other players. I break down the holes in there game and not just improve them but profected to the point that they are ready for the next level. I only work with catcher and hitters that play high school or equal level and above. I only work one on one and pitchers of catchers choice. Hitting we work on live pitching, cage work, tee drills, soft toss and other hitting work drills. I have a long history with this game and have a great way of coaching ballplayers. I'm very picky with who I work with and they must have the right frame of mind in order for me to work wit...

My baseball lessons will be focused on the art of baseball. I want to focus on the physical aspects of improving one's game, as well as, the mental aptitude needed for this game. Typical lessons won't give you the kind of knowledge and first-hand service as I will. Mental is 90% of baseball, so let me use my experience to take your game to the next level!

Hello, my name is Anthony Battaglia Baseball has been a giant part of my life since I was four years old I coach a competitive eight year old team now and get private pitching lessons and infield lessons on the side. My philosophy is very simple put the ball in play, throw the ball, catch the ball, obviously there are many fundamentals, but the foundation of baseball is simple, kids enjoy working with me because I keep it fun and light hearted, while achieving great results!

Your Baseball Training questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do private baseball lessons cost?

Private baseball lessons cost $50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.

Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:

  • 6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
  • 6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
  • 10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
  • 10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100

Are private baseball lessons worth it?

Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.

Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.

Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.

What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?

In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.

What age should you start pitching lessons?

Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.

However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.
