About
Love to build confidence in children and adults, love to watch beginners improve and become jumpers. Love to encourage all my students to do the best they can. It's amazing the different ways that people learn and how well they do. Enjoy teaching horsemanship to build relationships between rider and horse.
I started training by accident and it has been quite a learning experience for me as a person and a trainer.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find out what level a student is at. Observe their behavior with the horse. Do some ground work. Depending on status, let them mount the horse. Listen to their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of watching ,y daughters lessons and riding. 13 years of training students from 3 years old to 55 years old. Working with horsemanship to build relationships with horse and rider.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are paid for monthly at the current rate. A lesson day and time is agreed upon. The appointment is expected to be kept with the exception of emergencies or agreed weather related cancellations. We ride in most weather including light rain. We do not ride when there is lightening, ice or snow. This will be determined via phone call at time of lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
My daughter had been teaching and stopped. Two of her students were sisters and stopped lessons to do something else. They decided they missed riding and came to our door excited to come back. When I told them that my daughter was no longer teaching, they were so disappointed and asked me if I would do it. I had done some lessons for my daughter if she had to work late or whatever circumstances. So I started with them. Things progressed from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
While I don't recommend it, I had one student that was 3 years old. She was amazing. Most of my students are from 7 to 55 years old. Some had never been on a horse, some had shown horses, some just needed to review what they knew as a child and wanted to build confidence.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There are so many. I have two students Jumping. Watching them perfect their position and jumps is such a great feeling.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Some of the best trainers I know do not have any certifications. But they have passion, knowledge and experience. Ask for references. Ask what levels do they teach, do they go to shows (if that is a students goal), what their policies are.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If the trainer minds teaching a beginner or intermediate or what level a student is on. If trainer does shows (if that's an interest), if an adult student plans on bringing children with them to their lesson, if the student wants to bring a dog to lesson, if the trainer has equipment for horsemanship, jumping, horse for student, equipment for student, what kind of equipment.
