About

I started riding horses when I was seven years old and I absolutely love teaching new students who are excited to learn everything about horses!

My goal is to for my students to develop confidence and growth as riders while always maintaining the "fun"aspect of this amazing sport. I want my students to connect with and appreciate their horses so they may develop a bond that aids in their confidence as riders.

    Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student, it is important to start with the basics, while also acknowledging one's comfort level. While some may be eager to jump on, others may appreciate more time on the ground to get comfortable, and there is no wrong way. It is all about how each rider develops their confidence.

I started riding horses when I was seven years old and I completed into my early teens in Hunters.  I studied Zoology at NC State University with a focus on Animal Behavior.  I have worked on farms, taught at Girl Scout Camps, led trail rides, and have taught private lessons,

One hour private lessons are $50 per hour.  Semi Private lessons (2 riders) are $40 per hour; riders must have a good foundation of W/T off the lungeline to do a semi private lesson and require an evaluation.  "Family" lessons are $45 an hour; these can be private lessons for siblings, parents, etc.

I started teaching at my barn several years ago.  I started out giving guided trail rides and assisting with lessons until I gained my own students.

I have worked with all types and levels of students.

Make sure you feel comfortable with your instructor's method of teaching and personality.  Ask questions, speak up when you are unsure of the instruction or how to do it. This is YOUR time; use it wisely.  And make sure you have an instructor who ensures you LOVE this sport.  Because it is a lot of work, but it is amazing and worth every second.
