About
Some of the sweetest, sanest, safest school horses around. Personalized instruction by eight highly knowledgable and experienced instructors. Students who like to compete and students who don't receive equally high-level instruction.
This is a no-drama barn, with safety a priority, and lots of fun. I adore all of my students - they are sweet, enthusiastic kids. Michelle is the best boss to work for and the calm, pleasant atmosphere can directly be attributed to her.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Riding is supposed to be enjoyable and fun. For that, it first has to be safe. Thus early lessons combine learning safe procedures with fun exercises. More "academic" learning can come a little later as the student progresses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working with horses for the past 50 years, and teaching beginners is my favorite aspect of it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We charge $60 for one-hour private lessons, and $35 for half-hour lessons (those are mostly for very small children).
How did you get started teaching?
In 1986 or so, my barn suddenly lost an instructor, and I was asked to fill that role temporarily. I discovered I loved teaching beginners, and have been doing it ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I love and mainly focus on kids - roughly 5-13 years old beginners. But I have taught and still teach teens, young adults and older adults. A few of those are far from beginners any more, but we have fun and keep learning. Several of my past and present students have various types of learning disabilities, ADHD or Aspergers, and I seem to have the natural ability and patience to provide safe, fun, quality lessons for them.
