How did you get started teaching?
My first job as an assistant professional at Kennett Square CC in 1985. My head professional at the time brought me to the lesson tee for all the Jr and womens golf clinics. I watched, listened and learned how to teach, analyze swing flaws and make corrections. Eventually working my way into private lesson instruction.
What types of students have you worked with?
From the absolute beginner to the scratch handicap golfer. College players and PGA professionals as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Watching and helping my 5 yr old daughter learn the game of golf.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find an instructor you can relate to and understand his/her philosophy. Make sure you're compatible in the Instructor /Student relationship.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Always have a goal in mind when seeking out an instructor.
