How did you get started teaching?
Since I started playing golf, I was interested in the golf swing, I started to study it and when playing golf, friends would ask for tips and I would help them. I loved to help people achieve their goals, so then I decided to go to a golf school to further my education.
What types of students have you worked with?
Since 2010, I've taught nearly 30,000 lessons. I have had the privelege to work with mini-tour players, Divisions I, II, & III players, local Club Champions, to your weekend warrior, and the beginner golfer.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When taking on a new student we sit down to discuss short and long term goals. April 2016, I sat down with a new student Sandra, and her goal was to break 100 this year. She had been playing for 3 years and her scoring average was about 110. After 3 months of working together, Sandra broke 100 and shot 96! One month later, she went even lower and shot 94. To share a moment with someone who trusts in my expertise and her own work ethic to is a memorable moment for me.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The advice would be to just ask all kinds of questions. Find someone that you are comfortable with. Also, if an instructor doesn't have a game plan beyond 1 lessons, I would be worried.
