I'm located in Queens and specialize in guitar, piano, bass guitar, music theory, and drum lessons. I offer both lessons online and in person. All in person lessons will be myself traveling to you. And online lessons will be only for guitar, bass, and music theory. My philosophy: if it's not fun, don't do it. My aim is to make sure you feel like you're enjoying music, developing skills, and learning all at the same time!

About Me Hi, I’m James — a multi-instrumentalist and experienced music educator with over 7 years of teaching experience. I specialize in guitar, bass, piano, drums, music production, and songwriting. From 2018–2022, I taught music in schools and privately, working with students of all ages and skill levels, both in-person and online. My teaching style is student-centered and practical: I tailor lessons to each student’s goals, whether that’s playing their first song, improving technique, writing original music, or diving into recording and production. My biggest kick teaching drums is watching my students develop abilities and progress in drumming. I always try different ways of helping my students discover how much FUN it is to play drums! The most important thing to me besides getting my students up and running is to make sure we have a whole lot of fun while we learn! My lessons are informative but I tailor them to what the student wants to accomplish. And, there's lots of laughs along the way.

I am a professional composer and sound designer living In Brooklyn. I studied drums and film scoring at NYU in the Jazz Studies program. I have a fairly unique position as a full time composer for a reputable music house (Antfood). I also play in bands and produce music for myself and for friends. I can teach drums alongside other instruments such as bass, guitar, synths, keyboard or production on digital software such as Ableton Live or Pro tools.
