Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When we start working with a new student, our process is designed to ensure that every step is focused on achieving your unique goals and setting you up for lasting success:
1. Discovery Phase: We dive deep into understanding your goals, what drives you, and the real reasons you're here. This isn’t just about fitness; it’s about uncovering what truly motivates you.
2. Screening Phase: We conduct a thorough analysis, including posture, balance, body composition, and movement screens. This allows us to build a comprehensive 3D model of your current state, giving us the foundation to track your progress.
3. Customized Plan: Based on our findings and your specific needs, we create a fully individualized plan tailored to your body and goals. This includes a detailed roadmap of what the next 90 days will look like.
4. Expert Coaching: Our coaching staff, armed with deep expertise, will be by your side every step of the way. We’re here to push you, support you, and help you exceed your goals, not just meet them.
5. Lock and Recharge: After 90 days, we reassess, set new goals, and adjust your plan to ensure you continue evolving and improving. This process is all about continuous progress and breaking through any plateaus.
This approach ensures that your journey is both transformative and sustainable. We’re here to make sure you not only achieve your goals but also exceed them.

How did you get started teaching?
An injury that sidelined my baseball career became a pivotal moment in my journey. A trusted professor reintroduced me to the world of Exercise Physiology, sparking a newfound passion. After graduation, my degree naturally led me to strength and conditioning and personal training. This field became the perfect storm for me, seamlessly blending science, problem-solving, and the joy of helping people interact with the world on their terms. It was the ideal replacement for what I had lost, allowing me to channel my energy and skills into empowering others through fitness.
What types of students have you worked with?
My approach is rooted in understanding movement patterns and customizing routines to meet individual needs. This has allowed me to work with a diverse range of clients, from elite athletes to everyday adults, older adults, kids, and teens. I’ve also supported special populations and those rehabbing injuries, tailoring each program to optimize their unique capabilities and goals. Whether it's enhancing performance or aiding recovery, my focus is always on creating a personalized path to success.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One event that truly stands out for me is Laura’s incredible transformation journey at Evolve. When she joined in early 2019, Laura was dealing with a serious injury. Unlike other medical professionals who suggested surgery or medication, Laura wanted a more holistic path to recovery, and I was committed to making that happen. I took the time to understand her unique challenges and crafted a personalized plan focused on sustainable progress.
Laura’s journey evolved from regaining basic functions, like walking correctly, to achieving feats of strength she never thought possible. What made this experience truly special was the genuine care and encouragement she received—not just from me, but from the entire Evolve team. This supportive environment motivated her to push beyond her limits, both physically and mentally.
Today, Laura is stronger than ever, both in body and mind. Her story is a powerful testament to what can be achieved when dedication meets the right guidance. The small victories along her journey have turned into a lifelong commitment to health and wellness, and it’s been an honor to support her every step of the way.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be clear in your head as to what success looks like for you in 90 days and 1 year, so you can tell the coach/trainer exactly what you want.
Make sure the program you choose, has a thorough evaluation process.
Ask how they approach training the core/abs and if they still use sit-ups and crunches, run away...
Make sure they listen more than they speak when in an initial meeting with them.
Ask to see a training program they have written for a recent client, they should be able to produce a written document"
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Where do they want to be in 90 days?
Are they really ready to commit to training?
How often can they train based on their work/social schedule?
