The Stable At Barley Sheaf
About
We have a beautiful facility designed for teaching. We can accommodate trailer in students as well as students without their own horse. As part of the lesson I will sit on your horse to demonstrate or work out a specific problem you may be having. For students without their own horse we make available high quality sound experienced horses, often horses of show quality at my farm to be sold, not typical lesson horses. We are not a riding school as such, but rather a training stable with a lesson program for trailer in people who lack a great ring and jumps or someone who does not have their own horse.
I’ve been teaching for 40 years, I have been fortunate to have a lot of success and I have students who have been with me for many years 5,10,15 yrears. Im very proud and grateful for that, teaching is the thing I do best in my life.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We meet I ask them A very important question which is, “What are your equine goals? “. We then ride, I watch and then we get started. After the first lesson we talk about budget and their time availability, as a result if that conversation I developed a program based upon my experience that maximizes their time and money. The final thing I do is invite them to be part of the barn. That’s important that they feel at home in the barn.
