I teach martial arts because it is my passion, not a hobby or a sport. I bring 26 years of experience in training and teaching in various styles of martial arts, with my main focus on traditional Tae Kwon Do.
I challenge my students in every class, while helping them achieve their fitness and martial arts goals. In Tae Kwon Do, the training is for the mind, body and spirit to become someone better than when you first began.
I am a registered 4th degree black belt in traditional Tae Kwon Do with lineage to Ji Do Kwan.
I have always been interested in martial arts since I was a child. I grew up idolizing martial arts movie heroes like many people but I wanted to do it, not just watch it.
I trained under Grand Master Dong Keun Park in Jersey City, a living legend in martial arts. Through his teachings and my Master, Master Park, I learned the traditional style of Tae Kwon Do and became immersed in the life and culture through our dojang. Students and Instructors became family and every one had something to teach and much more to learn. My master told me to keep an open mind but never forget home and I did just that. I keep to my roots in Tae Kwon Do but have studied other styles, including Haidong Gumdo, a sword martial art.
Passing on my knowledge has never been considered work to me. I love it. I believe in my art and I take every student under my leadership as a direct reflection of myself, so I give them my best and strive to help them achieve theirs. I push my students to heights they didn't know they could reach and to see the look on someone's face when they do what they thought was impossible, is the best feeling in the world.

I ask what their goals are and what is it that they are looking for out of me and the lessons I will provide. Assessing their health, fitness level and knowledge of martial arts, if any. We discuss where and when to train and schedule our first session.
I'm a registered 4th Dan Level Instructor in Tae Kwon Do, issued from the Kukkiwon, South Korea.
My first job at 15 years old was assisting my Instructor. Before I was allowed to test for my black belt, I had to teach at least one year. By 18, I was the Office Manager and Senior Instructor, below the Master Instructors.
I started with my original dojang for 4 years learning the trade of business and different styles of Tae Kwon Do from other country national champions that trained at our school.
I have experience in working with children with autism and certain disabilities including prosthetic limbs. I have taught children as young as 3 years of age to my current senior aged student of 74.
I would recommend to ask what type of teaching experience they have.
Are they a certified teacher or someone with years of experience?
