About this pro

I have been a PGA Professional for 10 years and teaching golf for over 15 years. Throughout these 15 years I have had a chance to study and work along side some of the greatest teachers in the game. I have experience in teaching all levels of players as well as professionals. Each lesson is different and depends on the ability and what each student is looking to accomplish. I am a big believer in using technology, such as video and launch monitor, so each students swing can be viewed and have all of the ball and club data measured so there is never any guessing.

As a PGA Professional I wear many hats. Of all the things I do day in and day out I truly enjoy teaching the most. What makes it most enjoyable is being able to help each student improve and reach their desired goals.

Scott is a wonderful teacher! He is kind and patient and works with your individual capacities as a golfer!

As a beginner golfer, sometimes all the technical aspects of the swing can get in the way of actually learning to hit the ball. Fortunately, Scott is a very calm and thorough instructor without being overwhelming. When I am too focused on (or rather too distracted by) the small details, Scott teaches me to approach the shot from a more macro perspective. However, when I do want to understand the specific mechanics that will help my swing, he is more than able to pinpoint exactly what I need to change. Scott is also great at ending each lesson with one or two pointers for me to remember on my own. I am privileged to be taking lessons from a great instructor, and I look forward to becoming a better player!

There isn't many pros that I've dealt with that care as much as Scott does. He is very patient and interested in helping people improve their golf game. He patiently breaks down every part of your swing to show you where you can improve and makes you feel better about what you are doing. He is always an amazing person

Scott is incredibly easy to work with. He is able to work with players of all levels and does so in a calming manner. He doesn't try to remake your swing, but instead finds a few manageable things to address, with amazing results! He is the best!!!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Before working with a student for the first time I do an initial interview to get a background on ability and find out what each student is looking to accomplish. Once this is complete I spend an hour with each student assessing their current game and then writing up a game plan for what we need to do going forward.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As far as education and training I have the following:

BS: Business Administration. Concentration: Professional Golf Management. Methodist College, Fayettville, NC

2009 Class A PGA Member: Professionl Golfers Association of America.

Swing Catalyst Certified

Flight Scope Certified

Super Speed Golf Certified

Full Swing Golf Simulator Certified

Worked alongside Jim McLean, Dave Stockton, Michael Breed, Fred Shoemaker during golf schools.

Each year I travel to see  two top 50 instructors to spend the day with and observe their teaching styles.

Certified Callaway, TaylorMade, Titleist, Ping, XXIO club Fitter

I teach over 500 individual lessons annualy.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

1 Hour Lesson: $150

1/2 Hour Lesson: $75

If going to do a bunch of lessons we can discuss a package to help save some money.

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching during my college years. While doing required internships for the Professional Golf Management program I started teaching juniors and beginners and had a lot of success while doing so. I was always able to find a way to communicate very easily with people and get them to understand and accomplish the task that they needed to acheive.
